Gino Sabatini Odoardi (Pescara, 1968)
Si è diplomato al Liceo Artistico di Pescara e successivamente in Pittura all’Accademia di Belle Arti dell’Aquila discutendo una tesi in Estetica sulla fenomenologia del “Silenzio” con Massimo Carboni. Nel 2011 è stato invitato alla 54° Esposizione Internazionale d’Arte La Biennale di Venezia, Padiglione Italia (Arsenale).
Determinanti nella sua formazione gli incontri con Fabio Mauri (performer nel 1997 in “Che cosa è il fascismo” alla Kunsthalle di Klagenfurt e successivamente suo assistente) e Jannis Kounellis (Seminario-Laboratorio nel 1998 a L’Aquila curato da Sergio Risaliti). Nel 2006 nello spazio di Viafarini a Milano, ha partecipato al workshop con Antoni Muntadas curato da Gabi Scardi. Tra i vari premi: nel 1999 ha ricevuto da Alfred Pacquement (Centre George Pompidou) “Le prix des Jeunes Createurs” all’Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts di Parigi. Nel 2023 la Maretti edizioni ha pubblicato un volume a lui dedicato "Tra le pieghe del dubbio", a cura di Claudio Libero Pisano e Adriana Polveroni.
“Termoformatura in polistirene” è la definizione tecnica del procedimento sfruttato dall’artista per realizzare gran parte dei suoi lavori, l’appropriazione di tale processo materico lo rende artista unico nel panorama italiano e internazionale.
Dal 2013 è rappresentato dalla galleria Gowen Contemporary di Ginevra. Dal 2017 è docente di Plastica Ornamentale e Tecniche Plastiche Contemporanee presso l’Accademia di Belle Arti di Frosinone. Vive e lavora a Pescara.

He graduated at the Art Secondary School in Pescara and later he got a degree in Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in L’Aquila, discussing a thesis about Aesthetics and Phenomenology of "Silence", with Massimo Carboni. In 2011 he was invited to the 54° International Art Exhibition in the Venice Biennale, section Italy (at the Arsenal).
Two encounters were very important for his education and formation, the first one with Fabio Mauri (performer in 1997 in "What the fascism is" to the Kunsthalle of Klagenfurt and later he was his assistant) and the other one with Jannis Kounellis (during a Seminar-workshop in 1998 in L’Aquila, organized by Sergio Risaliti). In 2006 he attended a workshop with Antoni Muntadas, organized by Gabi Scardi, in the space of Viafarini in Milan. He was awarded with various prizes: in 1999 he received "Les prix des Jeunes Createurs" by Alfred Pacquement (Centre George Pompidou) in the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. “Thermomoulding in polystyrene" is the technical definition of the procedure the artist uses to create most of his works, the appropriation of this material method makes him a unique artist in the Italian and international scene. From 2013 he is hosted by the gallery Gowen Contemporary in Geneva. From 2017 he is Professor of Ornamental Plastic and Contemporary Plastics Techniques at the Academy of Fine Arts of Frosinone. He lives and works in Pescara.
